What is Art of Fauna?

Art of Fauna is a relaxing puzzle game about the animal world, made by Klemens Strasser. Each artwork comes with a short description of the animal it shows, so you can either piece the drawing back together or rebuild the text and learn something on the way.

Every image is a wildlife illustration from the 18th and 19th century, by artists such as John Gould and Joseph Wolf, originally made for scientific books and preserved by the Biodiversity Heritage Library.

It was designed to be accessible to everyone, with a puzzle style that works for people with cognitive disabilities and for people who are visually impaired, and a setting to hide animals you are afraid of. It won the 2025 Apple Design Award for Inclusivity and a 2025 App Store Award for Cultural Impact, and part of every App Store purchase supports wildlife conservation.
